This was a really fun shoot to undertake. I initially drew inspiration from Andy Warhol’s iconic portraits of Marilyn Monroe, though what resulted was a little more special.

Jess is an absolutely gorgeous model and very fun and easygoing- in short, amazing to work with. Mark likes to think outside the box. Together, we deviated from the original plans and decided to make this more bubblegum editorial. Something surreal, yet still tangible and identifiable.

The make-up took a ridiculously long time as I had to colour match the contours, highlights and foundation in an airbrush to a bizarre shade of bubblegum. Jess looked sunburnt until the eyeliner was applied near the end of the application. Glamorous. However, she was an extremely good sport as I styled a waist-length wig into a pseudo bob and fiddled with the base colour until it looked right.

Thanks so much to both of you for your extreme patience and creativity that you added to a half-baked concept I brought in to you both.

What do you think of the shots? let me know below.

xx

Shoot with Daniel O’Brien and Erica Rose

These are just a few of the phenomenal shots taken with Daniel O’Brien and the gorgeous Erica Rose. She absolutely smoulders in real life and it was actually really intimidating working on somebody who oozes sex appeal like that. Or maybe that was a little thing called envy. Either way, the shots turned out great.

I did this shoot back in December last year (2012) in Harmonique Photography’s studio in Newport.
Our model, Sandra, had flown in from Macao and we were blown away by her beauty and had a really great day working together as a team.
The theme was initially bridal, but it turned into editorial bliss as we realised we could create much more powerful looks than we initially expected.

Group shoot in Dandenong

Earlier this year I undertook an incredible group fashion shoot with five photographers, six models and two other make-up artists in gregd studios in Dandenong to create some art. Here are some of the things that we came out with.

So these shots are part of a series taken by the amazing Mad Dame on her studio’s open day late last year.

The model, Kitessa, was absolutely a joy to work with: professional, punctual, great fun to be around (which I think translated in the shots very nicely) and very naturally beautiful.

These shots were a lot of fun and there was definitely something liberating about messing up a face full of makeup considering how delicate a process it usually is!
